Refund Policy

Last updated: September 2, 2026

This Refund Policy describes how refunds are handled on TechAurum. Because our platform uses a secure escrow system, most funds remain protected until work is approved, giving both employers and freelancers confidence throughout a project.

1. Escrow Protection

Employers fund project milestones or approved hourly work into escrow before a freelancer begins or is paid. Funds held in escrow are not released to the freelancer until the employer approves the corresponding work. This protects employers from paying for undelivered work and assures freelancers that funds are secured.

2. Refunds for Unstarted or Unapproved Work

If a milestone has been funded but the work has not yet been submitted or approved, the employer may cancel the milestone and request a refund of the escrowed amount, subject to any agreement between the parties. Refunds are returned to the original payment method.

3. Disputes

If an employer and freelancer disagree about the delivery or quality of work, either party may open a dispute. The TechAurum team will review the evidence provided by both sides and may release escrow to the freelancer, refund the employer, or split the escrow between the parties based on the circumstances.

Dispute decisions made by the TechAurum team are intended to be fair and final for the purposes of releasing escrowed funds.

4. Platform Fees

TechAurum's platform commission is deducted when escrow is released to a freelancer. Where a full refund is issued for unapproved work before release, associated platform fees are also reversed. Fees already earned on completed and released payments are generally non-refundable.

5. Approved Payments

Once an employer approves a milestone or hourly work and funds are released to the freelancer, that payment is considered final and is not eligible for refund through the platform, except where required by law or determined through the dispute process.

6. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund or open a dispute, use the controls on the relevant contract or milestone, or contact our support team. Please include the contract details and a clear description of the issue so we can assist you promptly.
